John purchased the property in the spring of 1976 from the Crockers.  He and his family enjoyed many weekends at the original camp up until it was destroyed by fire in 1983.  

Construction of the existing house was started in the spring of 1985.  The existing house was built to be used year-round.  Since 1986 John and his family have been using it in the winter for snowmobiling as well as the summer.  

 

All of John’s children, step-children, and grandchildren have learned to swim there.  On many July 4 weekends, family cookouts have been held there since 1976.  John and his wife Rosalie of 21 years now spend most of the summer at the lake house, as we now call it.  We look forward to spending many more summers with our children, grandchildren and family members at Sunset Lake.
